I love teaching, because of the joy it brings to our young children. I love the smiles and “ah” moments when children glow and shine.

I became a teacher to help children learn and to find success. I was a child who struggled in school. Then I was blessed to be placed in a classroom of a teacher who took her time to help me become successful. I inspired to be like her and help young ones to be successful in every way possible. Now 30 years later I’m still teaching children and always wanting every child to be successful.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had a child who struggled with behavior. He would disrupt the class in any way possible. I had many talks with him and his father. His father even came to school to watch or “check up” on him. I had to isolate him due to being so disruptive. He had to earn all privileges back. When my principal walked in and asked me how I was able to get him to focus on his work. I knew I had connected with a child considered a “bad kid”. He was successful and graduated with honors.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would help update my classroom resources. I would also put some into savings for my daughter’s education.
