I became a teacher to give back to the community that helped me grow as a young adult. Every day, I strive to model the dedication, integrity, and passion of the mentors who guided me and believed in me. Their influence inspires me to support, challenge, and empower my students to reach their full potential.

My most memorable teaching experience has been returning to my hometown to teach and coach. Although I am not at my alma mater, working in the same community where I grew up gives me a deep sense of pride. Being able to shape young minds and mentor student-athletes in familiar surroundings reminds me daily why I chose this profession.

If awarded $25,000, I would use it to pay down loans and outstanding bills to become debt-free and gain financial stability. This would provide peace of mind and allow me to focus more fully on serving my students and community without the stress of financial burden.
