My first year of teaching was an experience. I didn’t think it was for me. I worked as a government contractor for 13 months, and during that time, I realized I missed teaching. I enjoy being around students and helping them learn and grow!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI am the Mu Alpha Theta Sponsor at my school. In January and February, on Tuesday afternoons, I would meet with my competition team for practice. We would work through problems or practice a certain drill to prepare for a mathematics competition. Seeing them as they compare notes or argue the best way to solve a problem was so fulfilling. The payoff - my team took home 2 trophies!!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to change my classroom into a flexible seating style classroom. I would use the money to buy supplies for my favorite projects (Barbie zipline/mini golf). A 3D printer would help to make specialized products for these projects. I would love to help further the success of our Mu Alpha Theta Competition team and give those students the opportunity to compete nationally.
