Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One afternoon at the end of a long day early in my career stands out as one of my most memorable teaching experiences.It was written on a torn piece of notebook paper by a senior who had been in my class since Freshman year.The student recounted an incident from Freshman year when he drew on the desk. I handed him, quietly, a spray cleaner, a cloth, and a blank paper to doodle, helping him focus. He wrote he felt accepted; he felt safe. Every action, small or large, leaves an impression.

What would you do with the $25,000?

1. I would purchase French children’s books for my students to read aloud (to use in recordings). 2. I would begin a scholarship for our students wanting to travel abroad on one of our high school trips, but unable to afford the trip. 3. I would provide college bus tour trips for my AVID students.
