Teaching has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. But it’s also one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!!!
Thank you for supporting Victoria Emeribe in this year's competition. Your donations and participation will benefit The Planetary Society in their mission to advance space exploration, inspire discovery, and empower the next generation of innovators.
Teaching is something that kind of fell into my lap. It started as me helping out in the children’s department at my church, and I quickly realized how much I loved guiding and inspiring kids. What began as a simple act of service turned into my passion and career, and I can’t imagine doing anything else!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceAs a social studies teacher, my students and I have spent this year learning about community and what it means to be a good citizen. We talk about how our actions can positively impact the people around us. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching these lessons is seeing my students apply them in their everyday lives. When they show kindness, responsibility, and respect outside the classroom, it reminds me that these lessons truly matter.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d definitely put a good portion back into my classroom for supplies, books, snacks, and fun prizes for my students. My kiddos deserve the best, and having the right resources helps make learning more exciting for them. And if I’m being completely honest… a little bit would probably go toward my bills too. Because being a great teacher is important, but so is keeping the lights on!
