Tell us why you became a teacher

Every day I have the privilege of teaching, encouraging, and sparking curiosity in middle schoolers through science. We start every class reciting our affirmation "I am smart. I am unique. I will make the world a better place." Sharing my passion for science with such impressionable minds is both an honor and a responsibility. These students are the future changemakers of our world, and if I can play even a small role in their path to greatness, that is my contribution.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

This year, our school allowed me to host a 6th Grade Science Fair. As a second-year teacher, it was an intimidating but meaningful goal. All 60 sixth graders presented creative, detailed, and engaging projects. My favorite aspect was seeing their own unique personalities shine through their work. The fair also included mini STEM challenges and prizes! It was a joyful celebration of curiosity, learning, and SCIENCE for families to share! I was incredibly proud of each student’s hard work.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I would invest it in the science department at All Saints Academy—funding a new middle school Science Olympiad club, covering STEM field trips, and supporting any initiatives my experienced colleagues see fit. Experiences like these spark a lifelong love of science and grow the STEM culture in our phenomenal school!
