Learn MoreI became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. I had this happen to me as a child. I was in the 5th grade at College Heights Elementary in Bakersfield California. My teacher's name was Mrs. Waltman as she is the reason I became a teacher. I was going through a hard time, with my parents divorce, she understood and tutored me during recess. I thrived in 5th grade because of her. I want to do that for my students.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was this year. I am currently in my 5th year teaching the 5th grade and I was given the tasks of having a student in my class that was problematic. At the start of the year this student was academically declining and behavior was becoming an issue. This student seemed to not respond to any incentives. I keep preserving with this student and took time to help him out, and today i am proud to say this student is doing well.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would buy my classroom its library complete with book shelves and with he remaining pay off all of my student loans and debt.
