Tell us why you became a teacher

It began with playing “teacher” as a child, but it became a calling when I worked with young children with special needs. I saw how powerful it is when a child feels understood and makes even the smallest breakthrough. I became a teacher to create a space where every child feels seen, supported, and capable of growing in their own way.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable moments was connecting with a child who communicated nonverbally. Through gestures, visuals, and patience, I learned to understand his needs without words. The moment he realized he was understood, his whole body softened. He felt seen, safe, and valued and that connection reminded me why this work matters.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would invest in my creative growth as a writer and poet. I would take classes to deepen my craft, attend a writing retreat in another country for inspiration, and give myself the space to rest and reconnect. I would spend time in nature, capturing moments through photography, and return renewed, with fresh ideas and a stronger creative voice.
