Tell us why you became a teacher

While I graduated from college with degrees in fields other than Education, I have always been drawn to Education. I believe this has been God’s Calling over my life; an opportunity for me to nurture the minds of young people! I strive to be a support for my students; which, many of them do not have!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience actually occurred just recently. About a handful of my students have been struggling with achieving skills since the start of the school year; well, one of those students proved that she could Activate her Prior Knowledge by recalling the strategies I had previously taught her, and she was successful all week in the learning! I cheered so loudly for her and had my class to do so as well! By Friday, when she saw me, she ran to me, smiling and hugged me!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would honestly help my husband, who is a truck driver and has been having difficulty managing our bills due to the inconsistency in work for the industry. I would pay off our insurmountable credit card debt; as that is what we have been relying on to get by. Since we have been constantly on Go mode, I would like to take a trip. We have two young sons at home and a daughter in college, and all we have been experiencing is loss lately. I just want to give them something to smile over!
