Tell us why you became a teacher

It has always been my calling. Children bring me joy. I love the way they look at the world—their creativity and perspective. I love that they are without gile. They can befriend anyone and work as a team. I love have found a place that allows me to nurture and grow this in my students.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most favorite teaching experience is STEM night. For three weeks my 4th and 5th grade students create cardboard mini golf holes and cardboard arcades both during class and after school. At stem night, the younger student students in our school, get to come and play the games that the older kids have created. This tradition has brought our whole school together— hundreds come and celebrate the kids hard work. It is amazing to see our community all come together and celebrate these kids!!

What would you do with the $25,000?

1) Rent the natatorium and school buses for duct tape and cardboard boat races! 2) Lots of Duct tape 3) I would buy wood and hire a carpenter to build me gigantic catapults so at Halloween we could throw pumpkins. 4) Our school changes, mascots this summer and I would use a portion to redecorate my room. 5)Our new mascot is Redhawks and I’d like to buy a fox red lab puppy, name her Red, and train her as a therapy dog and bring her to school with me!!
