Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to teach students the importance of science. From the cell inside our body to the molecules outside the body we are constantly dealing with Science! Some students in my class didn't like Science, so l showed them videos of Bill Nye the Science Guy. Then I explained to them, how it relates to their everyday life! I also enjoy doing hands on experiment with my students. I believe that my teaching will inspire my student to pursue a career in Science!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I remember when I was teaching my students about the planets. I didn't just hand them the textbooks, we went outside in the field. One of my student wanted to be the sun, so he came running and stood still in a corner and my other students began to follow. Starting from the closest planet Mercury to the farthest planet Neptune. My students were helping each other to place them in the correct order from the sun. They learned to appreciate the world near and far from them!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I am blessed with the opportunity, I will donate a portion of the amount to the underprivileged student to study science. The rest I will keep for my children's education. My son has dyslexia, he can't read but he loves doing science experiments at home. He enjoys watching Bill Nye the Science Guy science videos.
