Tell us why you became a teacher

When I was in school in the 70s and 80s children with special needs for segregated and rarely seen by their peers. I knew that I needed to make a difference in the lives of people that needed it most.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable time teaching had to be during the Covid pandemic when I was teaching virtually. I was battling breast cancer at the time and the families and children. I saw online every day helped me get through my own battle. Seeing their faces light up every day online melted my heart. Seeing their parents joy when they were learning something new in such a different way than they had in the past it was very difficult to have kindergartners with special needs online, but we succeeded

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000 I would pay off some debt and plan a special trip with my three granddaughters. Anything that was left I would probably spend on my classroom. Being a special needs teacher I always need things for my classroom so this would be amazing to get all the sensory items I need.
