I became a teacher because I’ve always believed in the power of education to change lives. I had teachers who saw potential in me before I saw it in myself, and I want to be that person for my students. Teaching allows me to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and help students discover their strengths.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching moments was when a former student told me they had been accepted into a major college. When they shared their acceptance letter with me, they also showed me their personal statement — and they had written about how my class helped them believe in their abilities. They mentioned that I challenged them while also reminding them they were capable of more than they thought.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like America's Favorite Teacher, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
