Teaching isn’t just about lessons. It’s about connecting with students, encouraging them, and being someone they trust.

I became a teacher because I believe education changes lives. I want students to feel seen, supported, and capable of achieving more than they believe they can. Teaching allows me to inspire confidence, build strong relationships, and help students develop the skills they need for their future. Being someone who encourages and advocates for students is what makes this work meaningful to me.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was watching a student who struggled with confidence finally believe in themselves. After weeks of encouragement and support, they volunteered to read their work aloud to the class. Seeing their pride and the class cheering them on reminded me that teaching is not just about academics, it’s about helping students discover their voice and realize their potential.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I received the $25,000, I would invest it back into my students and classroom. I would purchase books, technology, and engaging learning materials that support different learning styles. I would also create opportunities for enrichment activities that expand students’ creativity and critical thinking. Most importantly, I would use it to ensure every student has access to the resources they need to succeed.
