I teach because kids need someone steady—someone who believes in them before they believe in themselves. That’s where my heart is.

Learn MoreI became a teacher after working as a probation officer because I wanted to reach kids before they ended up in the system. I saw what happened when students didn’t have support, boundaries, or someone who believed in them early on. Teaching lets me be that steady adult — holding kids accountable, loving them well, and helping change their trajectory before it’s too late.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceSo many incredible memories, but watching my kids sign to go play college ball is huge. Seeing years of hard work, early mornings, setbacks, and growth pay off in that moment — sitting at a table with their family, making it official — never gets old. It’s more than a signature. It’s proof that discipline and belief can open big doors.
What would you do with the $25,000?With $25,000, I’d first take a small portion to travel and make memories with my family — because time together is something you can’t get back. I’d also pay off debt and invest in my health so I can keep showing up strong in the classroom and on the field.
