Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I know how important it is for a child to feel understood. As a parent of a child with disabilities, that perspective guides me every day. I teach in a behavior classroom where I focus on building trust, helping students learn to manage big emotions, and celebrating every win—big or small. With an amazing, supportive team beside me, we work together to help our students grow, believe in themselves, and succeed.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moments have come in my behavior classroom when my team and I were able to make real progress with some of our most challenging students. Many had gone through the system with little success before reaching our program. Watching them begin to grow emotionally and academically, discover their potential, and start believing in themselves has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I would first take care of some bills and financial responsibilities. I would also make sure to do something special for my classroom staff. My team works incredibly hard every day to support our students, and I would not be as successful without them. They deserve to be appreciated for the dedication, patience, and teamwork they bring to our classroom.
