My Art and Math teachers in high school inspired me by their love of the subjects taught and their students. That was in 1985. I had the desire to teach all of my adult life. It was 20 years after high school graduation before I began my first college class. After teaching Art for 5 years and homeschooling my special needs child for 4 years, I went back to the classroom as a special education teacher.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have many memorable teaching moments. However, those that effect me most are when I hear, "Ms. Dillard, I remembered when you were my teacher and you taught us about. ........" Those moments confirm that I made a lasting impression on my students.
