Tell us why you became a teacher

I love children! I have always wanted to work with young minds. They are the best! I never had my own, but working with so many kids over the last 23 years, I have become a mother figure to so many.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was my first day as a teacher. I started in November. I was the third teacher for this particular class. The last teacher walked out for lunch and never returned. The children were very challenging and I had a hard time, questioning my career choice. My mother came into my room to help decorate when the kids were not there. We prayed and decorated the room. The next day my students walked in and were very excited about the new decor. Life changed!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won 25,000 I would donate part of it to my school. We are a title one school with a large homeless population. I would like to get items to donate to my families.
