I kind of fell into teaching— I graduated college with a Musical Theatre degree during covid 2020, and there was no work for me at that point. I started subbing at elementary schools, and spent two years learning and training to become a full time classroom teacher. I realized I loved helping kids learn, and creating meaningful relationships with them.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was this past year when we were learning about the Declaration of Independence. I wanted to make it fun for my students, so I planted a fake “breakup” letter that I read aloud to the class. At the end I said it was from The U.S. colonies to Great Britain. They were all SO shocked and engaged!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to put towards my savings. I am saving up to put a down payment on a house in the future! It would really help me fulfill my dream of becoming a homeowner.
