Tell us why you became a teacher

I have wanted to be teacher since I was a child. My biggest inspiration was my older brother who had a rare disability, watching him. Face challenges in school showed me how important patient care teachers are. I saw the difference it made when educator believed in him because of him, I wanted to work with children with special needs and create a classroom where every student feels very supported and capable of success.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I would have to say one of my most memorable teaching experiences was this year when taking my 2nd grade class on their first field trip where we live we are in a lower income / rural area where most of our scholars haven’t had the opportunity to go experience museums , just seeing the their faces and there excitement made me realize how much our kids depend on us as teachers.

What would you do with the $25,000?

What I would do would be to add some amazing resources for my school and for my class to make sure each scholar would be able to access new technology and hopefully add new experiences for them.
