Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because of the fantastic teachers I had myself. They were the best support system I didn't know I needed and I want to help my students the way they helped me.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

It was my first difficult conversation that needed to be had with a parent about their students behavior. I try to state the facts about the behavior, but also my plan to support the student moving forward. I remember the parents being appreciative that I wasn't "giving up on their kid". That conversation really changed how I looked at my students behaviors and to not focus on the negative. Every day is a new day and we get to try again!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pay off my student loan debt to give my family and I some breathing room when it comes to our finances. This would be a huge blessing to us!
