Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I genuinely believe in growth and the power of children to rise when someone truly sees them. I don’t just care about scores I care about progress, confidence, and helping my students believe in themselves. I’m wired to build systems, culture, and community, and teaching gives me space to lead with purpose every single day. I see potential where others might see struggle, and I refuse to let my students stay stuck. At my core, I’m a nurturer, a builder, and a leader.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moment every single year is promotion. There is something so powerful about watching my students walk across that stage knowing how far they’ve come. I think about their beginning-of-year data, their struggles, their growth, the moments they wanted to give up, and the breakthroughs that followed. Promotion isn’t just a ceremony to me it’s proof of resilience, hard work, and confidence built over time. It’s the moment where I see the leaders they’ve become, and I’m reminded why.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won America’s Favorite Teacher and received $25,000, I would invest it into three things that matter most to me: my students, my family, and my future. First, I would pour a portion back into my classroom updating flexible seating, funding field experiences, expanding our classroom library with culturally responsive texts, and creating leadership opportunities that allow my students to truly flourish.
