Learn MoreI chose special education because I want to help students who struggle to learn feel that same confidence. I want them to know that their challenges don’t define them, that they can succeed, and that someone is cheering for them every step of the way. Watching a student finally understand something, or seeing their face light up with pride, is why I teach. Teaching isn’t just about lessons; it’s about hope, belief, and giving every student the chance to shine!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable experiences was with a third-grade student who struggled with behavior. I worked to connect with him and help him discover a love of learning. Two years later, in fifth grade, he told his mom he had the “Dream Team” of teachers and was so happy. Seeing how far he had come and knowing I helped make a difference was unforgettable.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won $25,000, I would pay off student loans, add resources to my classroom, and support my continuing education, as I recently enrolled in a certification program. This would allow me to focus on helping students who struggle to learn gain confidence and discover a love of learning, while also growing as a teacher.
