I became a teacher because I genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge and helping others develop skills that empower them to succeed. There’s something incredibly rewarding about guiding students through challenges and watching their understanding deepen until that unforgettable “ah ha” moment arrives. It’s in those moments when a concept finally clicks or a student discovers their own potential that I’m reminded why I chose this profession.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

While I can’t pinpoint just one memorable teaching experience, what stands out most to me is the time I spend helping students with their independent science projects. I love watching them take ownership of their ideas,from forming hypotheses to experimenting, analyzing results, and presenting their findings. Each project brings a new challenge and often introduces me to topics I haven’t explored before, so I end up learning right alongside them.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would buy equipment for my classroom lab to allow students to do more independent Biotechnology experiments and projects.
