Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because my whole life I have always been drawn to children. I am fascinated by seeing them grow and accomplished things that only could happen through having faith. I also want to make a difference in a child’s life, especially those who come from rough backgrounds. It warms my heart when I see my student smile at me or reach to give me a hug. It’s a reminder that I made the right choice in my career.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moment as a teacher is working alongside my lead teacher. That memory band a moment of us truly supporting one another to aid our students in everything that they need. Whether that be group time, serving meals, same diapers, or playing with the children outside.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would donate some of the money to the childcare facility that I’m working at now towards no toys and spare clothes. I would also put a portion of the money towards my vision of opening my own daycare center. Whatever is left over, I would use to donate towards clothes, shoes, blankets, and food for the homeless.
