Incredible teachers shaped my life and changed me. I remember Mr Petersen, my 5th grade teacher, who directed the school play and introduced me to the world of acting through Oliver Twist. Mrs Peacock vividly painted the horrors of World War 2 stirring our hearts and sympathies so we would never forget. In Mr. Frank's English class discussing Moby Dick I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my life lighting up young minds like he did for me. A teacher holds the future in their hands.

A 12 page script typed and hand delivered by a sixth grade student who decided to go above and beyond the page required for his drama specialty class touched my heart. The parent that confided her fetal alcohol syndrome adopted son started liking school when he attended drama and now has a place to succeed made me smile. The fifth grade boy who used to roll around in the back of class now brings his puppet every time to participate impacted our admin as well.

I would put it right back into the drama program at Sage Hills! We could use better stage lighting so students at the back of the stage can be seen during performances. We would love a scrim backdrop. We could use better back stage curtains. Money towards scripts, royalties, music, costume racks. There is always a need as our program grows and gains popularity!
