Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to make a difference in younger students lives. I wanted to help them to be curious and love learning. I am from a long line of educators and I grew up in that environment. As a young girl, I would help my mom put up boards and as I got older I would help her grade papers and plan hands on activities.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have so many memorable memories but my most favorite is when I see students take what we have learned in the classroom to outside experiences. One example was when we were learning about solids, liquids, and gases one of my students used the vocabulary out at recess. She ran into a pole and when checking on her she said she ran into a solid pole.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would expand my leveled library and other learning opportunities for my students to advance their learning.
