Learn MoreI became a teacher to create lasting, positive impact for diverse young learners by honoring their voices, cultures, and potential. Teaching allows me to open doors, build confidence, and help students see themselves as capable and valued. With 17 years in education, no day feels routine; each class, child, and challenge is new. Continuous learning, reflection, and relationships keep my practice fresh and my purpose renewed every day.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most meaningful teaching experiences was helping a child on the autism spectrum find their voice. By building trust, honoring their strengths, and celebrating small moments of courage, I watched confidence grow. When the child spoke aloud for the first time, it was quiet but powerful. That moment reaffirmed my belief that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and heard.
What would you do with the $25,000?With $25,000, I would create an inclusive, student-centered classroom by investing in adaptive technology, sensory supports, diverse learning materials, and flexible seating. These resources would support different learning styles, amplify student voice, and ensure every child feels safe, engaged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
