I became a teacher because I care deeply about children and the environment they learn in. Every child deserves a classroom that feels safe, encouraging, and full of possibility. I love helping students grow—not just academically, but in confidence, kindness, and resilience. Being a teacher allows me to guide, support, and believe in children during some of their most important moments.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have had so many memorable moments. One that just happened this year is when I was doing a lesson on racial equality and a student of mine was able to use his own words to describe the injustice of segregation. It brought me to tears. The aha moments are beautiful and I’m so blessed to witness them daily.
What would you do with the $25,000?Take my entire family on a wonderful vacation. Anything extra I will donate to my school to do something fun for all the students.
