Tell us why you became a teacher

My grandmother was a teacher and I looked up to her. As a teenager, I loved babysitting the kids in the neighborhood. I had a babysitting book! I have always loved kids.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Teaching Kindergarten during Covid was definitely an experience to remember. I remember doing reading groups, writing and math through elearning when everyone was encouraged to stay home. Kindergartners have a hard time staying focused through a screen. It was definitely easier to teach in person- I am so glad that those times are over and that we all made it through with success! I recently went back to my previous Covid Kindergarten class’ s 5th grade graduation. It was so much fun!!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won, I would take my family on a cruise and use the rest for my son’s schooling. My son has never been on a cruise 🚢 before. I would be so grateful for this opportunity.
