Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to make sure every student feels seen and supported—especially the ones who might be overlooked. That was my experience, and it’s what drives me every day.

Some of my favorite teaching moments happen beyond the classroom—like Honors Camp! Seeing university students and middle school students come together, learn from each other, and build connections in a camp-like setting was so much fun. It reminded me of my camp counselor days—full of energy, growth, and meaningful moments.

What would you do with the $25,000?

A dream trip to Antarctica to observe penguins sounds amazing, but my heart is with my family. My sister and brother-in-law are facing significant medical debt while raising two young children. I would use much of the $25,000 to help ease that burden and support them during a difficult time.
