Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I was approached and asked if I would consider teaching my trade at a private school. I said I would think about it and decided to give it a chance. That was just about 40 years ago! Once I became a teacher, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else! I worked in the private school for many years and transferred to the public school system where I have been teaching my trade for just about 25 years! I love teaching my students and watching them succeed!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One that stands out to me didn’t start well. A student said something to me that was very disrespectful. I didn’t react., I responded calmly & gave her several chances to change her words. She didn’t premium and was sent to the office. Sje later came and apologized to me. Thinking o was going to reprimand her, instead I told her what she did was bad but she was good. It’s a new day and we start over. She cried and said no one ever said that to her before not even her own mother.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The first thing I would do is tithe to my church. Then pay off my daughter’s college parent plus loan balance. Pay off my car loan. And maybe have a spa day!
