I truly enjoy teaching in an inner-city school. Helping young people grow and preparing them to become job-ready is beyond rewarding.

Learn MoreI got into teaching as a substitute teacher first. When I was a senior in high school my English teacher told all us if we don’t have a job six months after college go become a sub. That was stayed in my mind. After three years of subbing here and there. I became a full time sub. Then I met this principal who knew I had a science degree. She called me to sub science and long term science. I did that for about ten years. During that time I became a nurse then I became a career tech teacher.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have two from the same graduating class. One young lady had to transfer to another school district her senior year. At that school the senior class had to recognize a teacher who was the influencing. She named me. When I got the email, I just cried. The students that were still in my class, spoiled me! I would host certification events. My girls would jump in and teach the others what to do so they all can be certified. In addition, put my room back together, put the materials away. Smiles!
What would you do with the $25,000?Go vacay on a beach during summer break. Get program shirts for my students.
