Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher in honor of my grandparents. They were both in education in the town that I lived in. Every time my grandparents took me someplace, we would always have one of their former students come up to them, shake their hand and thank my grandparents for all that they did for them when they were their student. There was something so magical about the interaction with their former student that it inspired me to become a teacher. I want to make a difference in my students life.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My mom memorable teaching experience is always during High School graduations and prom season. As a Middle School teacher, I considered it a privilege to attend these events. My students success in and out of the classroom is the best part of the job.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were to win $25,000 I would pay my student loans off with part of the money. I would put a good portion back into my school. For example I run Field Day for grades Pre-K through 8th grade. I would make sure that it was a memorable event for years to come. I would also set up a scholarship for a former student who is graduating High School. As well as help assist students who cannot afford the field trips throughout the school year. I would revamp my classroom by adding flexible seating.
