I chose teaching to serve my community and model the value of education for my own children. My goal is to make a meaningful difference in students' lives by creating a supportive, inclusive classroom where every child’s academic and personal achievements are recognized. I encourage curiosity, nurture confidence, and celebrate each student’s progress so they leave feeling successful and excited to keep learning.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable moments are when struggling students achieve breakthroughs through my M&M (Morning Math) Club. I provide extra engaging support so they can ask questions, close gaps, and build confidence. This is the time when I can help those specific learners shine and give them the confidence and support to transfer during class time. The smile on their faces always makes the extra step I am taking worthwhile.
What would you do with the $25,000?I will use this money to strengthen my math classroom by purchasing hands-on manipulatives and technology that support diverse learners and deepen understanding of grade-level standards. I will also create “transformation boxes” to turn my classroom into an engaging, adventurous learning space that motivates students and increases academic growth. Additionally, a portion of the funds will support student incentives that promote both academic achievement and personal development.
