Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I’m passionate about learning. My third grade teacher was a big part in helping me make my decision on teaching. She inspired me to become to best scholar I can be. And that’s what I’d like to teach my students. Become the best version of you!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was when I had a very tough 1st grader who challenged me in ways that I wasn’t sure how to handle. I got a lot of staff support to help me through this process. He ended up moving away as a 6th grader. He came back his senior year of high school and surprised me in my classroom. I started crying with joy! I had his picture hanging by my desk as a reminder of the hard things we can get through. He thanked me for making a difference in his life.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000 I would have a much needed self care day. I would then purchase what I need from my ongoing Amazon classroom wishlist. I would then put the rest into savings to grow it and hope to not have to ask for donations from families for quite awhile.
