Tell us why you became a teacher

I used to watch the news as a little girl, and I had a strong desire to change the world. I realized the only way I could do it would be one child at a time. I want to empower my students to become change-makers themselves, ignite their passions and inspire them to make a difference.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences is the "Saving the Bees" project. A few years ago, while studying insects, my kindergarten class found out that bees were at risk of extinction. This motivated us to learn more and teach our community how to help. Together, we raised money and donated to an organization that help bees. I’ve continued this service project with my new classes, and over the years, we've reached hundreds of families, encouraging them to take action and understand why bees matter

What would you do with the $25,000?

Help my boy with college tuition.
