Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have always enjoyed working with kids since I was in JH. I was first a babysitter and then helped out with VBS in the summers. I knew that I wanted to make a difference in each students' lives and help them grow to their top potentials! My students help remind me to slow down and enjoy life sometimes! I love how they love to learn new things about their teacher and friends in school. My heart is happy when I see them love coming to school!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have too many memorable teaching experiences! I would say the most memorable ones are when you have a student who struggles either academically or socially, and you see how much growth they made throughout the year! I also love the moments when your students tell you they love you, want a hug, and make you the best drawings that say "Best Teacher Ever." It reminds me even on the toughest days that I am making a difference and creating a positive and fun learning environment for my students.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000 I would create the best learning space for my students! I could use it on more books for our Library, flexible seating and tables around the classroom, manipulatives and games they can use to extend their learning, art supplies, TPT activities, basic school supplies for everyone, and so much more that is needed throughout the year!
