Tell us why you became a teacher

From a very young age to even now, I've always enjoyed reading, asking questions, investigating, and learning about things. I even learn from my students. I became a teacher to share this love of life- long learning and accomplishment. I wish to always inspire and foster the students to all questions, seek answer, and research beyond what I teach in the classroom.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience happens everyday. One particular memorable moment occurred this year as I was teaching my students to respect all peoples and their culture. We were learning about holidays around the world, and on their own asked if we could create and craft a representation for these beautiful celebrations of light and love. And thus we built a 12 foot by 3 foot curved river bed, with actual water to float lights, lowers and lanterns for our Festival of Lights Celebration.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would like to purchase an interactive wall or floor projector, where students play interactive games that allows for mental and physical growth. This system can transform any space we have, like the gym, classroom, or cafeteria into a safe learning playground with advance projection and motion sensing technology. Students would be active and fully engaged cognitively while also benefitting from the safe physical activities.
