Tell us why you became a teacher

I learned that I could make a difference as cliche as that sounds. I saw in the kids I worked with that they really would listen and value things if you gave them a chance. Not all kids have the same story and not all kids know what stability and have a listening ear for them at home. Therefore, I really jumped in to teaching kids to the best of my ability to make it fun to learn. Middle School is hard enough with the social challenges, why not have a teacher that will listen and learn with them

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Oh, I have too many to talk about just one!!! ONE of My most memorable experiences has been when I won the local educator of the week for a local news station. A student nominated me and with her essay of my teaching, it won. I was shocked!! Some of my best moments are when past students come back to visit me and tell me how much they miss my class. I will never not LOVE that.

What would you do with the $25,000?

IM GOING ON A CRUISE!!! (Just kidding, LOL) I am a widow, so I would like to set up a little fund for my two children who are ten and 15. Next, I would give a little to my church, and the rest I would save for the future.
