Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I value family, education, and the younger generation! I love to see students excited about learning and creating those relationships and memories that have a positive impact on them and their idea of school.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experience would be when one of my 7th grade female students beat me in a review game and said, "I beat you and I'm not even smart!". She was being silly, but that stuck with me. I called her over to my desk the next day and told her not to ever say that again and that she was incredibly smart and had so much potential. She told me later on that my words encouraged her and made her think differently about herself and the impact of her words.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would help get my family out of debt and use the rest to travel somewhere with my husband and kids and spend some much needed time together resting, exploring, and making memories!
