I love building relationships with students who come from individual backgrounds different from my own..some who are just trying to survive

I became a teacher because I was with students with autism before teaching as a Paraprofessional, just wanted to teach and start a new path with more students and teaching one subject but make teaching fun and rewarding at the same time.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIt irritates me, when a student feels more confused off of my teaching, so one night I sat down to breakdown everything in math.. especially with high school sped students, so I broke down why we do things, vocabulary of each word and so forth, since then my students are more engaged and want to actually have homework cause they understand what is being taught.
What would you do with the $25,000?My mind can think of numerous things. My dept helps with resources for me all the time, but I think I would enhance those resources. A project I put on “donors choose” and other projects I see that need a push financially.. all students deserve the best and by winning this, I could help out my kids more. Being a teacher, I always think of ways students can benefit but I’m always stopped financially. Pay my bills and catch up. Being a teacher doesnt pay well but I love teaching
