ere are so many wonderful memories & experiences while teaching from student's individual achievements to class-wide experiences. A memory that stands out for me, inspired from my cultural experiences during my first years of teaching, would be my lesson on the Lunar New Year. We read Red is a Dragon, watch educational videos about the culture, celebration & dragon/lion dance, create our own dragons together, parade through our school with instruments & custom made dragons, & eat long noodles.
