I teach 8th grade science with so many opportunities available daily to make a difference and ignite a spark into their lives.

I became a teacher to make a difference in my students lives. I wanted to help them see what they are capable of no matter what is going on in the life right now. I love when that light comes on and they finally understand the topic. One of my favorite things is when a former student comes up to me and tells me how I made a difference in their life just by believing in them.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI was teaching F=ma using formulas and no matter what I tried she just couldn’t understand how to use it to find the answer and struggled with that part on our benchmark failing every time. . One day out of the blue, when we were about to test over it, reviewing, she yelled out “I get it”. Something clicked and it made sense- she mastered her STAAR test in science that year.
What would you do with the $25,000?As a Title 1 school families struggle buying basic supplies. I want to start with stocking up on those basics for those who need them throughout the year. Students learn by doing I want to purchase force and motion devices for real time learning. I would like to update my classroom with furniture that helps those who struggle sitting still when necessary, and a trip to the Perot museum- to show them there is more out there than just Malakoff, Tx- so reach for the stars.
