I began my college career studying accounting but always found myself working with children. I love to what children grow and the excitement in their eyes when they learn something new. When I graduated, I was more interested in continuing to work with children and did not find passion in working in a cubicle. With children I was able to use my creativity and love for everything to the classroom and share what our world has to offer. Children love to hear stories and have their eyes opened up.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceEvery day is a memorable experience. I could never pick just one or even a few. 30+ years of teaching I have seen many things, watched many children grow and develop, and heard many miraculous stories and experiences. Maybe my most memorable has happened, maybe it is yet to come, but I’m enjoying the journey.
What would you do with the $25,000?Well without lying, I do have piles of bills at our home. Home and car repairs that are long overdue. College tuition loans that need to be paid. Teachers do a lot of the front line work, but are paid so little. My hours are long and I usually work on lessons at night, so a second job is not obtainable. Money is tight. $25000 would make a difference.
