Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because when my youngest son was in school, he would make all A’s but would fail the end of the year exams. I could not understand that. Once I went to school and learned all that I could, I became a teacher to inform not only parents but students as well. Ensuring that the school work was on grade level and rigorous enough so that growth was able to be achieved. I First rest had to educate myself to be able to educate others. I became a teacher to make a difference.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teacher experience, so far, is this year. I have all the students that was unsuccessful on the state assessment the year before. We took a practice assessment, which was the state assessment the year before, almost have of my students passed and over 80% showed growth. I am ever proud of them and they work so hard. I know that they are going to beat that STAAR at the end of the year and make a change in their lives.

What would you do with the $25,000?

What I would do with $25,000, I always wanted to own my own home. I will use the money to put down as a down payment on my forever home.
