Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe education changes lives. I wanted to create a safe, engaging classroom where students feel valued and capable. Teaching allows me to support academic growth while also building character, confidence, and critical thinking skills. Seeing students overcome challenges and achieve their goals motivates me every day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a struggling reader gain confidence and proudly read aloud to the class. Over time, with support and encouragement, the student began participating more and believing in their abilities. That moment reminded me that teaching is not just about academic-it’s about empowering students to see their own potential.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest in classroom resources that enhance literacy and technology access, including updated books, flexible seating, interactive learning tools, and student-centered materials. I would also creates enrichment opportunities such as field trips, project-based learning experiences, and family engagement events to strengthen the school community.
