When I was in school, I needed a safe space. I needed a place to go where I felt comfortable and seen. This was my fourth/fifth-grade classroom. I became a teacher because I want to be a safe space for children. I want to make a difference, even if it is one small change.

My most memorable teaching experience is probably made up of all of the little moments. The funny things the students say each day ("Wait, your teeth are real? I thought all teachers had fake teeth") and the moments when their eyes light up make this experience so amazing.

First of all, I have never even seen that amount of money. I get excited when I find a dollar in my car (lol). I would definitely put a lot of it towards the playground at my school. We are working to make the playground more accessible for the students. I would also put it towards school supplies to provide for students who can't afford to bring any in. I was that kid in school who could not afford to bring in supplies, so I don't want any students to ever have to experience that.
