Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe education changes trajectories. I’ve always loved history, but what I love more is watching students realize they’re capable of more than they thought. I teach to spark confidence, challenge thinking, and create a classroom where growth feels exciting. For me, it’s not just about content… it’s about impact. If I can help a student find their voice, think critically, and see their own potential, then I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most meaningful memories was a student who had just lost his mother. He was quiet and withdrawn, just trying to get through each day. During our “best president” debate, something shifted. He researched deeply and spoke with confidence, advancing round after round. He didn’t win, but the class environment was so encouraging. They had no idea what he was carrying … yet they made him feel valued, and he smiled.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would first pay down debt to create margin and stability. I’d invest in certifications and possibly pursue my Master’s in Teaching to grow professionally. I would also cover conference costs for underprivileged Teacher Cadets who dream of becoming educators one day. It would be about growth … for me and for the future teachers in my classroom!
