Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I’m passionate about teaching children how to love and respect one another regardless of their walk of life, race, culture or ethnicy. Everyone deserves to feel like they belong and are capable of great things.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I had a child coming to my preschool class who never spoke they were very shy and had a hard time being social. I knew this and was intentional about playing with them as well as got to know interests. In a matter of a month they came out of their shell and I will never forget how grateful their parents were when they left. The power of play move mountains!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would donate a portion to the cancer society, as I lost my mom a year ago to cancer and want to give back. Additionally, I would love to take my dad on his dream vacation since he has had such a hard past few years caring for my mom and family through that situation.
